CHARACTER AFFILIATIONSThere are a bunch of affiliations for your character to be apart of here on The Past! Affiliations are the stance in which your character feels about the situations happening around them. There are three main affiliations (Death Eater, Neutral, Order of the Phoenix), and multiple bad affiliations. Even as a student, you may have an affiliation, although it may or may not come into play.In this universe, Death Eaters are in control, at least, in control of the United Kingdom. Led by a very powerful Voldemort, Death Eaters are stationed in Hogwarts, around the United Kingdom, and in the Ministry of Magic. They launch attacks on the other schools, utilize snatchers to find and bring back muggleborns, and expect the doctrine of mudbloods be completely eradicated. Death Eaters are also notorious for side-sweeping and being paid more than Dark Wizards are, and are known to force Dark Wizards into their ranks. Death Eaters also train Baby Death Eaters (those marked to become great one day), with any means necessary.DEATH EATERSBABY DEATH EATERSBaby Death Eaters are the newest set of Death Eaters. Chosen out of Hogwarts for certain qualities, such as blood status, personality traits or even familial name. Baby Death Eaters are usually hand picked by higher status Death Eaters and gain a "mentor" to tutor them in how they're supposed to act. Often times, Baby Death Eaters are the only students who are able to go into the Facility and return, although this is for training and constant positive reinforcement. Baby Death Eaters, once chosen, are required to act upon their own devices and take their tutor-age seriously, otherwise they might be forced via the Impervious Curse or enchanted jewelry. Baby Death Eaters who completely disregard their training are often obliviated and reintroduced to the wizarding world by believing they're muggleborn, and living the rest of their life in the Facility.DARK WIZARDSDark Wizards are a sub-sect of the darker wizarding life, although not as favorable as Death Eaters. Often times, Dark Wizards are less likely to be employed when a full time Death Eater would be sufficient, but also, they seem to not be as ruthless. Dark Wizards are typically the ones to deal in potions, artifacts and the less used dark arts items that Death Eaters aren't necessarily interested in. It's pretty well known that Dark Wizards run in different and quieter circles than the Death Eaters, and Death Eaters tend to recruit them (often times by force) into their ranks.NEUTRALCharacters in the neutral affiliation are exactly what it sounds: either completely uninterested with siding one way or the other, or are easily swayed. Characters in neutral often avoid main fights that are between Death Eaters and Order of the Phoenix, and are less likely to express themselves openly when it comes to the political affiliations of people around them.ORDER OF THE PHOENIXThe Order of the Phoenix is the front line of wizards against the Death Eaters. Led by a mix of older men and women from all professions, the Order is in every area of the world, working quietly in secrecy. The Order has members in the Ministry of Magic, hidden away as professors in schools and all around both muggle and magical worlds. The Order is currently most notably working to save muggleborn children before they're stolen to the Facility, and attempt to thwart dark wizards and death eaters alike. Order members tend to swear in Resistance students to the French Order, although they are transferred and utilized over in Britain as well. Generally, to become an Order member, one needs to be close to another already established member, or show their loyalty in another way to prove themselves capable of handling the title.THE RESISTANCEThe Resistance is apart of Beauxbaton's school system, and is a firm supporter of the Order of the Phoenix. Started when Beauxbatons was basically shut down, this new and upcoming affiliation is for students, teachers and French wizards and witches who were or are trained in espionage and secret spy stuff. A good majority of the Resistance sides with the Order of the Phoenix, and many graduated students from Beauxbatons become Order of the Phoenix members themselves. Out of all of the groups, the Resistance is one of the hardest to be initiated in because you have to show loyalty, dedication and secrecy. Even those who attend Beauxbatons aren't readily admitted into the Resistance right away.THE UPRISINGThe Uprising is compromised of mostly the Felis house at the Facility, although a good fraction can be found throughout the rest of the school. Started in the early month of March of 1990 by upcoming fourth year student Aiden Sanderson, the Uprising is a hush-hush affiliation that is planning an attack on freeing the school from Death Eaters and returning to the wizarding world, in hopes that the Order of the Phoenix could help them. Students in the Uprising are very, very secretive about this, and they don't just let anyone into their ranks, often proving to each other they are trustworthy through secret plots, plans, ploys and chores that prove to each other their loyalty. The Uprising students, if caught, get serious punishments, so keeping each other safe and not allowing others to know about their plans or who is in the Uprising is extremely important.
