She takes pride in the way she looks, making sure to draw attention to her big round brown eyes and her shy yet striking smile. Her mother prefers her hair to be long and curly, as is it’s nature. But due to recent circumstances, Karlie went out of her way to cut it all off. Anything she could do to change her look. Since the disappearance of her sister, Kenna, Karlie has dulled down her wardrobe and muted her make-up. The middle child did not want to draw too much attention to her muggle born nature with such a dramatic look. But as the school season starts up, Karlie will not be able to keep herself from digging into the newest fashions and accessories.
PERSONALITY
PERSONALITY: The smack dab in the middle child of the Kearny family is as quiet as expected. Karlie usually plays mediator to her very hot-headed sister and three brothers. Being the only other girl in the family gave her a reason to cling onto Kenna, her older sister. They bonded quickly and have been inseparable. Karlie is the type of girl who is very trusting and protective of those she holds dear. She does not cater to her emotions as most of her family does, but can get moody after a long period of contemplative alone time. She comes off as timid and shy but is one of the more friendlier of the Kearnys.
Even though she fades into the shadows of the stronger personalities her family holds, Karlie tries her best to stand out in her own way. It seems as though Karlie's lack of confidence controls her but her girlish ways take over when it comes to individual expression. Knowing what to wear and how to wear it is Karlie's forte. She takes pride in her looks and how she acts, always criticizing herself in her head. It was not strange to see Karlie constantly dressing up her sister by doing her hair or make-up, often getting on Kenna's nerves. Whether she has her nose in the latest magazine or going to the park with her best friend, Will, Karlie is always doing something. In moments when she is alone or in "The Sanctuary" with Will, Karlie will come out of her shy shell and strut or recite a scene from her favorite movie. Her dream is to be on the big screen and tap into all the crazy scenarios the Kearny children have faced over the years.
Although she seems to be clingy, Karlie is a go getter. She is a hard worker when it comes to chores or getting things done for the family. She can often be seen as a follower but in her mind she aspires to be the leader. Most of the time Karlie can be seen thinking, or overthinking; constantly in her head planning or analyzing things. Parts of her mind dabble in creativity but most of the time she is trying to understand the depths of how people are or why they act the way they do. In this respect, Karlie always knew what buttons to press for her older sister. She knew that Kenna had a short fuse and entertained different ways to get that instant reaction. Karlie aspires to understand how others operate, and how to invoke those feelings within herself.
After Kenna's disappearance, Karlie became more closed off. She put away most of her emotions and mainly keeps to herself. Her thoughtful nature does often confuse how she sees the world. She wants to be open and trusting to those around her, but yet she dwells on what might be happening to her sister. The burden of not being able to help her sister weighs heavy within Karlie but she presses on regardless. An anger or frustration can be found bubbling under the surface since her sister vanished. Karlie tries to not let it interfere with school preparations. Her toughest moments are when she is in her own head. The uncertainty in herself is a plague that she will hopefully one day overcome.
BOGGART: Finding out Kenna has been killed by Death Eaters.
DEMENTOR: Waking up the morning after Kenna was kidnapped, not being able to find her sister.
PATRONUS: Doing Kenna’s nails on Christmas Eve night when she was 10. It was their tradition every year. - She has yet to cast a patronus due to her age, the form it will take is currently unknown.
ERISED: To have a family and live close to Kenna’s family, so their children would grow up together.
AMORMENTIA: Dark chocolate covered cherries with a hint of the smell of fresh rain.
VERITASERUM: Karlie wants to be an actress or model, but only the people closest to her (Will and Kenna) know about this desire.

HISTORY: The story of Lillias and Edan is a classic love story. They met during law school, working on a group project together. Over time they grew to enjoy their friendship, which eventually blossomed into quite a compatible relationship. During their time at the university, the couple literally bumped into another couple on campus; Amanda Enders and Norton Sanderson. This meet-cute quickly turned into a friendship and thus started a life long bond. The foursome graduated from the university and decided to move out to Northern Ireland. After a bit of time had passed, the two couples finally wed. A problem stirred when the apartment they were sharing became too small for two newlywed couples to start their own families; Lillias and Amanda were both pregnant. Before the babies were due, the couples came to a grand conclusion ending with their families living side by side in Silverbridge, Ireland.
Kenna Kearny was the first of many in the Kearny family. A year later, Lillias popped out Cole. And a two years after that, Karlie was born. Being the middle of five kids was a lot to handle. She was the quiet one who always had to mediate between each sibling. It was obvious to Lillias and Edan that Karlie and Kenna would bond quickly, being the only two girls. Their parents hoped that Kenna's ways would not rub off on Karlie - and they didn't. The two girls complimented each other, and dominated the boys in any argument.
The Sanderson family was very close with the Kearny's, especially their two boys. Adien, the oldest, and Will, the youngest, took to both Kenna and Karlie. Each set were the same age, so they had a companion to rely on when a well needed break from the family arrived. Will and Karlie were thick as thieves. They built "The Sanctuary" deep into the woods nearby their neighborhood. It was a small, rickety, wooden, cabin-like structure where the deepest secrets were shared between best-friends-for-life. A sign hung on the door that said, "No brothers or sisters!". This was their home away from home. Karlie was comfortable enough with Will to show off her acting abilities and share all the latest pop culture gossip.
Karlie was there when Kenna was summoned to magic school. It was the first time in her life she was unable to follow in her sister's footsteps. A small uneasy feeling grew within Karlie as she had to adjust to Kenna being a witch. She would watch closely whenever her sister came home from Hogwarts with a new spell. It was a skill that Karlie was torn between envying Kenna and admiring Kenna. Shaking off her feelings, Karlie did not allow this difference to get in the way of her and her sister.
Last year's Christmas was the worst of Karlie's life. Her parents decided to take the family on a cruise. Karlie's one request was that the nail painting tradition stuck. Every Christmas Eve, it was tradition that Karlie and Kenna painted each other's nails waiting for Santa. The cruise went by so quickly. Karlie and Kenna sat on the beach together and as the sun was setting, Karlie could feel the burn starting to form on her skin. She remembered thinking that sunburn would be the worst thing to happen on that vacation. And Karlie was dead wrong. As the family started to retire back to the cruise ship, Kenna and Cole asked to stay behind for a little bit. A yawn caught Karlie's attention as she barreled forward into their father. It could not have been longer than ten minutes before Cole ran over to the family in a panic. Karlie was just about to fall asleep in Edan's arms, when she was thrust awake. Kenna was missing. Cole had lost track of her and could not find her. Karlie swallowed hard and tried to grasp what was happening. It had to be a joke, Kenna was just hiding somewhere. Their parents were set in a panic and frantically looked around the port for some kind of authority. They combed the beach but there was no sign of Kenna.
A few weeks after Kenna's disappearance, Karlie started to grow frustrated and felt an anger building up. It was a feeling she was not comfortable with. She was the sibling who stayed true neutral, not tapped into her feelings. But now she was seriously cut off from her feelings, unless she was with Will. They had grown attached to one another, especially since Aiden went missing as well. The building up feeling of tension inside Karlie seemed to externalize often. Whenever she thought of Kenna, Karlie noticed she would spill her water (more like her water would practically jump out of the glass) or the kitchen faucet would start to pump out hot water. Odd signs that she was unfamiliar with. Until her eleventh birthday.
Finally as she might had sensed all along, her and her sister had an underlying bond. They were both witches. Karlie was notified of being a witch. After some time her family decided she would be attending Beauxbatons in the fall. Eager to tell Will, a sense of disappointment washed over her. The realization that they would be separated hit her hard. Karlie did not want it to hinder their friendship. She kept all excitement to a minimum and did not want to think about their future apart. Karlie wanted to spend the whole summer with Will and make memories they would never forget. So many rescue missions planned together in "The Sanctuary" that summer. When August hit and Will's eleventh birthday arrived, he had marvelous news to share with Karlie. They were both going to go to the same wizarding school together. Finally an overwhelming feeling of happiness, probably the first time since Christmas.
Karlie and Will would start their adventure to Beauxbatons in the fall of 1990. She could hardly wait.

THE ROLEPLAY
Finally, it was time to pick out a wand. More like it was time for a wand to pick her. Karlie remembered what it was like for Kenna to get her first wand. The shop was a disaster. Poor Mr. Olivander. It was just her and her mom. The twosome cautiously stepped into the shop. Her mother had called ahead to schedule an appointment. Kenna's wand made quite a mess when they had finally found each other, suitable for the firecracker. Karlie was more low-key and uncertain. The curious thoughts wandered through her mind. What kind of wand would work best for her? She remembered Mr. Olivander telling Kenna the process was about a mutual understanding and bond between witch and wand.
With her wide brown eyes alert, Karlie cleared her throat and peeked her head around the corner of a stack of wand boxes. A bright white light shot through the store with a loud grunt followed. Curious, Karlie stepped forward slowly. Mr. Olivander shook off the dust and pushed away the collapsed boxes. She gave him a shy smile with her eyebrows raised with surprise. He gave her a nod and proceeded to sift through boxes. Just as Karlie's mom was going to introduce themselves, the shop owner interrupted her with, "I know who you are. Kearny....yes. Not the temperamental one. The quiet one.... let me see."
The shy smile on her lips turned into a grin as she finally realized the search had already started. An eager and giddy feeling built up inside her as her eyes watched the peculiar genius at work.
